Ice Plant (Carpobrotus / Delosperma) – Quick Facts

Type: Succulent ground cover

Sun Requirements: Full sun (at least 6 hours per day)

Water Needs:  Low once established – drought tolerant –  Avoid overwatering (can cause root rot)

Soil Preferences:  Well-draining soil (sandy or rocky is ideal) – Tolerates poor soil and salty conditions (great for coastal areas)

Growth Habit:  Spreading ground cover

Height: 4–6 inches

Spread: up to 2–3 feet or more

Flowers: Bright daisy-like blooms in purple, yellow, or orange – Blooms from spring through summer
